O psicanalista e os desafios da cultura na contemporaneidade

Abstract

This study aimed to understand how cultural and social changes impact the manifestation of psychological suffering, considering the demands and challenges that these changes produce in psychoanalytic practice. To this end, we sought to compose the study with the contributions of Sigmund Freud and contemporary authors in which current demands are presented in a manner compatible with their time, combining experiences of clinicians and theorists who set out to critically analyze the configurations of this context with regard to questions of culture and/or psychoanalysis. After the theoretical path, we combine the participation of scholars and practitioners of psychoanalysis through interviews with guiding questions. To achieve this, we opted for qualitative research of an exploratory nature, obtained through a narrative literature review, as it provides the construction of possibilities from the most varied points of view in the direction of the phenomenon studied. For data analysis, the psychoanalytic clinical method is applied as a way of investigating unconscious phenomena. The analysis of the results demonstrates that cultural changes produce significant consequences in the way we exist, requiring the psychoanalyst to be critical and attentive to the demands that a society presents, but above all, to those who seek help and care in the most diverse areas of care. Reflections on human suffering and what makes us suffer, rethought from Freudian studies, enable history to advance towards contemporary times. It is not possible to ignore the cultural and social influences that affect the individual in their dimension of being, thinking and feeling. Reflections in the way you relate to yourself and others carry the impressions of these aspects like fingerprints in the psyche. There are several scholars who, independently or in isolation, set out to think about topics such as culture, human suffering and Psychoanalysis. Bringing these three subjects together to understand the ways of being and becoming ill today is an attempt to contribute and add, without ever reducing.
