O laboratório de informação, arquivo e memória da educação (LIAME): o arquivo escolar a serviço da pesquisa na comunidade da Baixada Santista (SP, Brasil)

Abstract

The Laboratory of Information, Archive and Memory of Education (LIAME) was created by teachers and students of the Graduate Program in Education at the Catholic University of Santos (UNISANTOS, SP, Brazil), in 2006. The aim of this thesis is to highlight LIAME¿s archive and present the research possibilities that the archive offers for the production of works in the area of history and historiography of education in Baixada Santista (SP, Brazil), through its three thematic axes: a) history of school institutions; b) educators and intellectuals; and c) topology of culture. In addition, this research includes discussions on memory, school files and their conceptualization. This research is based on the work of Agustín Escolano Benito (2010) and the Manual of Work on School Archives (2003). The methodology used is the historical- documentary one, which seeks to show through the documents found in the LIAME¿s archive, the importance of preserving this place of memory. At the end, we highlight three other places of memory: Centro Internacional de la Cultura Escolar (CEINCE, Spain), the Pedagogical Museum ¿José Pedro Varela¿ (Uruguay) and the Centro de Memória Escolar de Praia Grande (Brazil), as similar examples located abroad and in national territory.
