A formação profissional do orientador educacional: um estudo nas escolas municipais de Santos/SP.

Abstract

Our object of study is the Educational Advisor (EO) who works in municipal schools in the city of Santos / SP. The question of this research is to know how the EO works in the school in which it is inserted and what is its initial and work training. How is the initial and in-service training of the SO? This research allowed demonstrating the importance of the EO in the public school of the city of Santos-SP and what its function is before the teachers and students. The research justifies the need to know this function within schools, since the initial literature review showed the existence of few studies on the subject. The central problem to be answered is: Does the EO in the municipal schools in the city of Santos have adequate conditions to act in the teacher-student relationship, in the problems found in the school and in the community in which it is inserted? The literature indicates that the EO is a field that is especially committed to the students, the whole school and the community, even though its function is not yet well recognized. The reality of current schools in the 21st century indicates that there is a great challenge ahead, which requires a high pedagogical effort, that is, teaching, serving the educational goals, aiming at the balance between knowing and knowing how to be. That is, between the knowing subject and the conscious, balanced and responsible social subject. A qualitative research was carried out, searching documents in historical archives, interviews with pedagogical advisors from the city of Santos / SP, which allowed us to gain a better knowledge of this function and what is its role within the Management Team and its participation in the teaching work.
